Ingredients:

    1. 3/4 cup Rice
    2. 1/4 cup Split Moong Dal
    3. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
    4. 1/4 tsp Hing
    5. 1 tsp Garam Masala
    6. 3 to 4 Bay Leafs
    7. 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
    8. 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
    9. 1 tbsp Ghee
    10. 1 tbsp Oil
    11. 1 tsp Mustard seeds
    12. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
    13. 2 tbsp Garlic
    14. 6 to 7 Curry leaves
    15. 4 to 5 dried Red Chillies
    16. 1/4 cup Potatoes diced
    17. 1/4 cup Cauliflower florets
    18. 1/4 cup Green Pepper diced
    19. 1/4 cup Corns
    20. 1/4 cup Green Peas
    21. 1/4 cup Carrots
    22. 3 to 4 slit Green chillies

Method:

    1. First put together bay leaf, sesame seeds and cumin seeds in to blender and powder it down.
    2. Mix rice and dal together, wash under cold water and soak for 1 hour.
    3. Now put rice and dal mixture in to pressure cooker.
    4. To that add turmeric powder, hing, garam masala and ground masala powder.
    5. Mix well.
    6. Now add all vegetables and green chillies.
    7. Add salt to taste.
    8. Cover and cook until you hear 2 to 3 whistles.
    9. After all the pressure goes down, open the lid of pressure cooker and give rice a gentle mix.
    10. Now heat up ghee and oil together for a tempering.
    11. After that’s hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, garlic and dried red chillies.
    12. Also add curry leafs.
    13. Mix very well and let garlic change its color.
    14. Now pour tempering over Khichdi and give that a good mix.
    15. Serve hot with a ghee on the top!
